Viral Tank Vids From China and Poop From North Korea
“Does the U.S. have any plans to reciprocate and send American poop across the 38th parallel?”
A video of a custom World of Tanks controller has gone mega-viral in the U.S. after crossing over from the Chinese video site Bilibili. The video shows three men working together to operate a tank uses 2 liter Mountain Dew bottles to simulate shells. Dudes rock.
This incredible custom controller is the work 马鹿blyat and the channel has an incredible body of work featuring other bizarre gaming contraptions that typically revolve around hurting users. They simulated the recoil of an assault rifle in Counter-Strike, built a Lewis Gun for a rail shooter, and rigged a car seat that tosses around the driver during car crashes in racing sims.
There’s a malapropriated Bomber Harris quote rattling around my head this week: “The Russians entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everybody else and nobody was going to bomb them."
Last week a Ukrainian drone damaged part of Russia’s nuclear early warning system. On Tuesday, Putin warned the world that NATO shouldn’t let Ukraine use all the fancy weapons it’s gotten to strike targets within Russia. World leaders then spent the rest of the week explaining, to various degrees, that they were cool with Kyiv hammering Russia with the weapons they’ve sent.
Leaders in the U.K, the Netherlands, Canada, Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, and Finland have all said Ukraine should be allowed to strike targets within Russia. Even Biden is on board at this point.
North Korea failed to launch a satellite on Tuesday and followed it up by firing a barrage of possible ballistic missiles into the sea. Then it sent a batch of balloons carrying bags of garbage and shit across the border into South Korea. This prompted Task & Purpose’s Jeff Schogol to ask the Pentagon a question that was on everyone’s mind: “Does the U.S. have any plans to reciprocate and send American poop across the 38th parallel?”
